Trauma Recovery Therapy

The experience of living with a traumatic past is as varied as each one of us. Different childhood and adulthood experiences wound us, and we (consciously or unconsciously) experience and shape our lives around them. I work with individuals who are tired of being in pain, of suffering, and of feeling "stuck", fearful or hopeless.  They are ready to seek support and empowerment for healing and thriving.  Survivors of trauma experience manifestations of recent or past/historical trauma through their mind and body. I use an integrative method that incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, somatic (body) exercises and the latest research in neurobiology, Systems, and Attachment theories.

My work emphasizes a mind-body-spirit integration in the exploration and healing of trauma. I work with individuals who have experienced both a single traumatic incident or complex trauma. I follow a person-tailored program that equips my clients with the resources they need for healing through self-compassion with their internal (thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories, etc) and external (day to day living) experiences. The goal of therapy is creating a heightened sense of knowing and awareness, as well as holistic healing that allows individuals to rejoin life with a sense of hope and wholeness.

I currently work with individuals who have survived or are experiencing the following:

  • Childhood or adulthood sexual abuse
  • Physical or emotional abuse in an intimate relationship
  • Present, historical or intergenerational trauma due to marginalization or oppression
  • Childhood emotional abuse, neglect or abandonment
  • Experiences of combat in war
  • Death or loss (or impending loss) of a loved one
  • Loss of a job/work (or impending loss)
  • Accidents
  • Traumatic loss due to chronic pain, illness or disability onset or progression
  • Experiences of displacement and separation from one's home, family or community
  • Immigration experiences
  • Trauma resulting from navigating self-identity (e.g. gender or sexual identity)
  • Other trauma(s)
